Glenglassaugh – Torfa (2020) (50%)

Glenglassaugh Torfa is a richly peated Highland single malt from the Portsoy coast, bottled at 50% ABV. Torfa is the Old Norse word for peat, and smoke sits at the centre of the whisky. It is non-chill-filtered and natural in colour, and it was matured in select barrels. Sweet malt, smoke and a fresh minerality run through it. The nose brings smoky peat, citrus, light spices and maritime notes. On the palate there is full smoke with honey, pepper, malt and soft wood, and the finish is long and warming, with peat smoke lingering.
