This is a 12 year old single malt from Glengoyne, a Highland distillery founded in 1833 and known for its slow distillation. It is a variation on the distillery's 12 year old, matured in a combination of ex-bourbon casks and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks.
The sherry casks give the whisky an amber colour.
The nose is honey, vanilla and fresh fruit, with a little spice and oak. The palate is smooth, with honey and vanilla alongside fresh fruit. The finish is fresh, lightly sweet and carries fruit for some time.
