Glengoyne – White Oak

Glengoyne White Oak is a Highland single malt matured entirely in first-fill bourbon and virgin oak casks from North America, a first for the distillery. The casks are charred for less than a minute, which leaves the fresh Glengoyne spirit clear of heavy cask influence. The name celebrates Quercus alba, American white oak. The idea came from the geese of the glen, which make a 3,000-mile journey across the Atlantic to America every winter. The colour is pale straw. The nose has lively oak, vanilla cream, bright citrus and sponge cake, with red apple, ginger and a touch of violet. The palate is soft and playful, with crème brûlée, candied lemon and tinned pineapple. The finish is toasted oak with caramel.
