Glenmorangie – 16 Years The Nectar (70cl, 46%)

This is a 16 year old Highland single malt from Glenmorangie, bottled at 46%. It first matured in ex-bourbon casks, then spent around two years in selected sweet wine barriques from Sauternes in France, Spain and Hungary. That finish brings the honey and citrus character and the spiciness typical of dessert wine. The 16 year age statement has been on the bottle since 2023. The nose has lemon and orange peel, raisins and dates, with coconut and nutmeg. The palate shows ginger, nutmeg and roasted almonds with lemon syrup and honeycomb. The finish is soft and long, with white chocolate, ginger and nutmeg.
