Glenmorangie – 16 Years The Nectar (70cl, 46%)

This is a 16-year-old Highland single malt from Glenmorangie, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. The whisky spent 14 years in bourbon casks, then a further two years in a combination of sweet white wine casks: Sauternes and Monbazillac from France, Moscatel from Spain and Tokaji from Hungary. The Sauternes and Monbazillac casks bring pastry, brioche, meringue and baked apples. The Moscatel casks add sweet, syrupy, dessert-like notes, and the Tokaji casks contribute white chocolate, almond and honeycomb.
