A Highland single malt from Glenmorangie, bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is a special edition in the A Tale of series, created by Dr Bill Lumsden and Gillian Macdonald and inspired by the colours, aromas and markets of the world's spice trade.
The whisky was first matured in bourbon casks, then finished in four types of cask: Moroccan red wine casks made from French oak, new charred oak, shaved and toasted red wine casks, and Pedro Ximénez casks. The Moroccan wine casks were a first for the distillery.
The nose is floral, with rose, jasmine and lilac beside cumin, saffron, nutmeg and ginger. The palate is spicy with ginger, black pepper and mustard seed, and the finish is warm and peppery.
