Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban is a 14 year old Highland single malt. It spends its first ten years in ex-bourbon casks, then moves for four more years into port casks that previously held ruby port from Portugal's Douro Valley. It is bottled at 46% ABV.
The port maturation brings notes of bitter orange and dark chocolate. The nose is fruity and floral, with orange, sandalwood, dark chocolate, nuts and exotic spices. The palate is silky yet rich, with dark chocolate, sweet mandarin and nuts. The long finish carries fruity sweetness, chocolate, mint and a little orange.
