Glenmorangie – Signet Reserve (75cl)

Glenmorangie Signet Reserve is a single malt Scotch whisky built on the original Signet, in a 75cl bottle. It starts with a spirit distilled once a year from high-roast 'chocolate' malted barley. This is matured in bourbon, sherry and virgin oak casks, including some of the distillery's oldest stocks, then given a further 12 months in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. The nose has dark chocolate sponge, roasted espresso beans and muscovado sugar, with hazelnut cream, orange zest and oak. The palate is thick, with chocolate truffles, toffee, fudge and treacle, then Turkish coffee, cinnamon, orange oil and a little raspberry. The finish is long, with dark cocoa, baking spices and creamy toffee.
