Glenmorangie – Signet (70cl, 46%)

Glenmorangie Signet is a Highlands single malt bottled at 46%. The barley is grown near the distillery and roasted very darkly to bring an intense chocolate character. After distillation the spirit matured in fresh white oak and Oloroso sherry casks. The vatting includes some old malts, up to 30 years old according to the producer. The nose offers chocolate-covered raisins, spice and pudding. The palate is lightly sweet with cinnamon, chocolate, candied orange peel, tobacco leaf and freshly roasted espresso beans. The finish is long and dry, with a hint of truffle oil.
