Glenmorangie – The Infinita 18 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 43%)

Glenmorangie The Infinita is an 18 year old Highland single malt Scotch whisky, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. Glenmorangie has made Highland single malt since 1843. The whisky spends fifteen years maturing in American white oak casks. About 30% is then moved into Spanish Oloroso casks for a further three years, and the two parts are blended back together at 18 years. The nuttiness of the American oak tones down the raisiny sweetness of the sherry. The nose is rich, rounded and sweet, with dried fruits and a complex floral fragrance. The palate balances honey, malt and flowery scents, with dates and figs behind and a hint of wood smoke. The finish is long, with dried fruit sweetness and the subtle dryness of Oloroso nuttiness.
