Glenmorangie The Nectar is a 16 year old single malt inspired by the aromas of a French patisserie. It spent 14 years in ex-bourbon casks, then two more years finished in sweet white wine casks.
Those finishing casks came from three wine regions: Sauternes and Monbazillac in France, Moscatel in Spain and Tokaji in Hungary. Each is described as adding its own notes, from pastry and brioche to white chocolate and honeycomb.
The nose is ripe peach, honey, pastry and white flowers, with creamy vanilla and soft spice. The palate brings white chocolate, honey, almond, candied citrus and baked pear. The finish is long and velvety, with a lingering crème brûlée sweetness.
