Glenmorangie The Nectar 16 Years Old is a Highland single malt matured for 14 years in American bourbon casks, then finished for two years in a selection of sweet white wine casks: Sauternes, Monbazillac, Muscat and Tokaji. It is bottled at 46% and is non-chill-filtered.
The colour is a bronzed gold. The nose has freshly baked brioche, poached apricot, vanilla pudding, toasted almonds and chocolate truffles, with caramel, candied orange and a herbal note when water is added. The palate is rich and creamy, with custard, baked fruit, nutmeg, star anise and honeycomb. The finish is long, with lemon, baked bread and honeyed sweetness.
