Glenmorangie – Triple Cask Reserve (70cl, 40%)

This is Glenmorangie Triple Cask Reserve, a Highland single malt bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It brings together whisky from bourbon casks and new charred oak with casks that held rye whiskey, which are rarely used in the Scotch whisky industry. The nose offers pear, candied orange, honeysuckle and clove. The palate is creamy and viscous, with crème brûlée, cherry chocolate, fudge, spicy orange sorbet, clove, sweet chilli and tropical fruit. The oak then comes through with maple syrup, almond marzipan and subtle spice.
