Glenrothes – 25 Year Old The Soleo Collection (70cl, 43%)

Glenrothes 25 Year Old is the oldest bottling in The Soleo Collection, a Speyside single malt at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It spent 25 years mostly in first-fill oak casks that had been seasoned with sherry in Jerez. The casks were hand-selected under the distillery's vintage approach, where character and quality decide when a whisky is ready. The nose is ripe black cherries and vanilla with a hint of coconut and mature oak. The palate is velvety, with berry compote, dark chocolate, Brazilian coffee and cinnamon, plus marzipan and tropical fruit. The finish is long, with sweet spices, dried fruits and polished oak.
