This is a 42 year old single malt from Glenrothes, a Speyside distillery founded in 1879 and named after the nearby town of Rothes. It is bottled at 43% ABV after four decades in oak casks.
The nose is full of ripe fruit, golden caramel and polished wood. On the palate there is vanilla, honey and spice, with a velvety texture.
The finish is long and soft.
