This is a 14 year old Glentauchers from Speyside, bottled by Chorlton Whisky at a cask strength of 61.1% abv. It was aged in a refill sherry butt, and the cask gave 610 bottles.
The refill sherry adds a gentle richness to the fruity spirit. The whisky is cakey and elegant, with layers of honey, stone fruits and yellow flowers, then a malty development. Flapjacks, chocolate brownie and golden sultanas come through in the aftertaste.
