This is a 1999 Glenturret, bottled in 2014 by Gordon & MacPhail for The MacPhail's Collection. It comes at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is led by stewed and cooked fruit, with rhubarb, prunes and buttery toffee, over hints of dried herbs, vanilla, allspice and a little citrus freshness. The palate starts creamy and malty, turns peppery with ground almond, then moves on to nutmeg, cinnamon, tropical papaya and maraschino cherries. The finish is smooth and clean, with toasted oak, gentle spice and a note of Brazil nut.
