Glenturret – Ovation 12 Year Old Peated

Glenturret Ovation is a 12 year old peated single malt from the Glenturret distillery in Perthshire. It is made from peated malted barley and spent all twelve years maturing in sherry casks of European oak. The smoke from the peat sits alongside the spicy, sweet character that the sherry casks add. The nose is citrus and toffee apple with ripe orchard fruit, light spice and a little smoke. On the palate a dense sherry sweetness carries dried fruit and toffee, with a gentle smoky note and balanced spice. The finish brings dried fruit, a hint of smoke and a cultured spiciness.
