This is a 25 year old Highland single malt from Glenugie, bottled by Douglas Laing in its Old Malt Cask series. It was distilled in October 1979 and bottled in March 2005, drawn from a single refill hogshead at natural strength of around 50% ABV.
It is non-chill filtered and has no added colouring. Glenugie is a closed distillery.
The nose is soft orchard fruit, honeyed malt, vanilla cream and gentle oak. The palate has sweet malt, baked apple, citrus zest and light spice in a creamy texture, and the finish is long, with lingering fruit sweetness and subtle oak.
