Gold Cock 10 Year Old is a Czech single malt from the oldest whisky brand in the Czech Republic, now made in the town of Vizovice. It is bottled at 49.2% ABV, a figure chosen to echo Vizovice's latitude of 49.2 degrees North. It is non-chill filtered and in natural colour.
It was the first Gold Cock expression distilled in the distillery's Arnold Holstein stills. The malt is made from Moravian spring barley, lightly peated to around 10 PPM, and matured for ten years in new, heavily charred European winter oak barrels made by coopers in Čejkovice.
The nose offers fresh fruit, vanilla, creamy honey, caramelised apple, plums, ginger and cinnamon. The palate has baked apple, prunes and gingerbread spice, and the finish is long and warm.
