This is a 25 year old Balblair, distilled in 1997 and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail for its Connoisseur's Choice range. It is bottled at a cask strength of 55.4% ABV.
The nose opens with bright tropical fruit, green apple and charred oak. On the palate, lemon and lime zest give way to subtle ginger spice, with Seville orange peel, toasted almonds and black pepper. Pineapple and coconut lead to a faint herbal edge. The body is medium, and the finish carries lingering citrus fruit.
