This is a 40 year old Speyside single malt, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in its Distillery Labels range under the MacPhail's name. It comes in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky matured in a combination of refill sherry and bourbon barrels together with first-fill sherry casks.
The nose is toasted malt and heather honey, with hints of pear and dried fruit. On the palate it is silky, with dark chocolate, dried fruits and cocoa, warming spices and a gentle oakiness. The finish is long, with woody notes and a lingering sweetness.
