Grace O'Malley Dark Char Cask is an Irish blended whiskey in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 43%. It brings together several batches of malt and grain whiskey, with the oldest components matured for up to ten years.
The blend is matured in bourbon barrels, French oak and new American oak. It then spends six to eight months in heavily charred bourbon barrels. It is non-chill-filtered, and colouring is added.
The nose offers coffee and bourbon vanilla, with milk chocolate, toasted wheat and caramel sweets. On the palate it is medium in weight, with dried fruit cake and layers of oak. The finish is soft and long, ending on roasted coffee beans.
