A 30-year-old single grain Scotch whisky from the Lowlands, bottled by the independent bottler Claxton's after maturing in ex-bourbon casks. It is bottled at 48%, is not chill-filtered and has no added colouring.
The nose offers sweet vanilla, caramel and a touch of nutmeg, with strudel pastry and sweet oak. On the palate there is egg custard tart, waves of vanilla and rich, creamy dessert flavours. The finish is syrupy and sweet, with candied fruit that recalls panettone.
