Green River Kentucky Straight Bourbon is a high-rye bourbon from Owensboro, Kentucky. It is aged for a minimum of five years in traditional rickhouses and bottled at 45% ABV (90 proof). The mash bill is 70% locally grown corn, 21% winter rye and 9% malted barley. The colour is burnished copper to honey-gold.
The nose is refined and floral, with caramel, toffee and vanilla, plus hints of wood shavings and freshly ground coffee. The palate is smooth and sweet, with a prominent apple note and warming rye spices of cinnamon, allspice and orange zest. The finish is long and clean, with spiced honey and apple-flavoured cereal.
