Hakushu – 12 Year Old 100th Anniversary Distillery Label

Hakushu 12 Year Old 100th Anniversary Distillery Label is a Japanese single malt from the Hakushu distillery, released as a limited edition to mark the 100th anniversary of Suntory and the Japanese whisky industry. The distillery stands among forests at the foot of the Southern Japan Alps. The whisky is made from malted barley and water from the Ojira and Jingu rivers, fermented in wooden washbacks, distilled twice in copper pot stills and aged for at least twelve years. It has an herbal nose with apple, pear and almond. The palate offers pear, butter cookies and dark plums with a subtle smoky undertone, and the finish is soft, with a dry, lingering touch.
