Hakushu – 12 Years Old (70cl)

Hakushu 12 Years Old is a Japanese single malt from Suntory's Hakushu Distillery, set in the forests of the Japanese Southern Alps at about 700 metres. The distillery uses mountain water filtered through granite. The whisky is aged for a minimum of 12 years in various cask types, and it pairs fresh, green notes with a light smokiness. It is sold in a 70cl bottle. The nose offers green apple, pear and mint, with forest floor and a wisp of smoke. The palate is clean and light-bodied, with citrus zest, cucumber and honeyed cereal. The finish is long, with green tea, white pepper and a faint smokiness.
