A peated 18 year old single malt from Hakushu, the Japanese distillery founded by Suntory in 1973. This is the 100th Anniversary edition, bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle.
Hakushu lies in the Japanese Alps and is known for whiskies with a fresh, herbal character. Here the focus is on peat.
The nose offers peat smoke, pine and mint, with green fruit and flowers. On the palate, peat, green fruit and fresh herbs sit alongside oak and caramel, with a silky texture. The finish is long and smoky, with spice and wood.
