Hakushu Distiller's Reserve 100th Anniversary is a single malt introduced in 2023 for the distillery's centenary. Hakushu sits in the foothills of Mount Kaikomagatake, and the whisky was distilled in pot stills. It brings together malts aged in American oak, sherry and lightly charred casks. The American oak adds vanilla and a creamy texture, the sherry casks a delicate sweetness and rich fruit, and the lightly charred wood a gentle smoky note. The profile is fresh and herbal, with floral hints and a touch of earthy peat.
