Hakushu – Distiller's Reserve

Hakushu Distiller's Reserve is a Japanese single malt from the Hakushu distillery in the Japanese Alps. It combines young, lightly peated whiskies with more mature, heavily peated ones, aged in a range of casks. The vatting draws on whiskies under 10 years old from bourbon casks, an older whisky of over 18 years from American white oak, and a strongly peated whisky of about 12 years from bourbon casks that adds smoke. A touch of whisky from sherry casks completes it.
