This is a Czech single malt from Hammer Head, distilled at the Pradlo Distillery in 1989 and bottled by the distillery in 2013 after 23 years of maturation. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 40.7% ABV. The whisky matured in Czech oak, which sets it apart from classic bourbon or sherry cask maturation. Hammer Head is regarded as one of the early European single malts made outside Scotland. The nose offers dried fruit, soft spices, wood and a light sweetness. The palate is round, with honey, caramel, cloves and toasted wood. The finish is warm and elegant, with a clear woody texture that is never sharp.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
