Old Bourbon County Single Barrel is a wheated Kentucky straight bourbon made by Hartfield & Co. in Bourbon County, Kentucky. It comes in a 75cl bottle. Each release is drawn from a single 53-gallon barrel and bottled at cask strength, uncut and unfiltered, so the proof differs from one barrel to the next. The nose is sweet candy and rich caramel. On the palate the caramel moves into candied apple and cinnamon, with extra warmth and spice from the higher strength. The finish is lingering but fairly light, with sweet apricot and warming spice.
