A Japanese blended malt from Hatozaki, the name used for whisky from Kaikyo Distillery in Akashi, Hyogo. It is bottled at 46% and was previously sold as Hatozaki Pure Malt Japanese Whisky.
The blend combines different single malts aged in ex-Bourbon, ex-Sherry and native Japanese Mizunara oak casks, along with some hybrid casks that have cherry wood heads. Blending happens in two stages: two foundation blends are made first, then left to marry in cask.
