Heaven's Door Bootleg Series Volume 3 is a 13-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbon, released in late 2021. It was finished for about a year in Spanish Vino de Naranja casks that previously held orange wine macerated with bitter orange peel. It is bottled at cask strength, 60.6% ABV, in a 75cl bottle, and limited to 3,949 bottles.
Each bottle is a handmade ceramic decanter bearing Bob Dylan's painting "Sunday Afternoon", a coastal boating scene.
The nose offers grilled peach, rye spice and buttered popcorn. The palate is viscous, with dark honey, black pepper and maraschino cherry. The finish is lingering, with cream soda and candied orange.
