Heaven's Door Single Barrel Rye is a single-barrel American rye from the brand created by Bob Dylan together with Marc Bushala, founder of Angel's Envy. The mash is 95% rye and 5% malted barley. It matured for just over six years in new American oak barrels with a number 4 char, known as alligator, and is bottled at 61.4% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose brings wood, cocoa and pickled raisins, with pear, fresh grain, an earthy hint, spice and vanilla. The palate is peppery and spicy, with a touch of chilli, prominent wood and a little sweetness. The finish is long and spicy, with stewed pear, fine wood and caramel.
