Heavens Door Double Barrel is an American whiskey developed in collaboration with Bob Dylan. The range takes its name from his 1973 song Knocking on Heaven's Door, and the bottle shows the iron gate he made in his own studio.
It is a blend of three American whiskeys, aged for 6 years in ex-bourbon barrels and then for a further year in new American oak. It was filtered through charcoal using the Lincoln County Process and is bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is rich and earthy, with toasted grain and oak. The palate is complex: caramel, marzipan, citrus, spice, dates, dark berries and fennel. The finish is medium in length, with caramel and dried corn.
