This is a Japanese blend of malt and grain whiskies, released by Hibiki at 43% in a 70cl bottle to mark 100 years of Suntory Whisky.
The blenders chose Mizunara oak as a mark of respect for Japanese heritage, in place of the more traditional sherry cask.
The nose is refined, with kumquat, jasmine and a hint of Japanese incense. The palate is subtly sweet and floral, moving to spiced sandalwood and agarwood. The finish is long and deep, with spiced Mizunara wood.
