A 17 year old Japanese blended whisky from Suntory's Hibiki range, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It comes in the 24-faceted bottle that stands for the 24 seasonal divisions of the Japanese calendar, with a wrinkled washi paper label and calligraphed name. Mizunara oak and sherry casks are part of its character.
The nose combines ripe peach, candied date and dried apricot with vanilla, honey, delicate rose and light cocoa. The palate shows dried apricot, candied orange, toffee, ripe berries and a little dark chocolate. The finish is long, with dried fruit, honey and soft sandalwood, ending on a faint tea note.
