Hibiki 21 Years Old is a blended Japanese whisky from Suntory, in a 70cl bottle at 43% ABV. The bottle follows the Hibiki design of 24 facets, a reference to the 24 solar terms of the Japanese year and the turning of the seasons.
Sherry cask influence and mizunara oak both show in the whisky, which has a deep amber-copper colour.
The nose offers dried fruit, honey, vanilla and ripe blackberry, with sandalwood, cocoa and leather beneath. The palate is thick and round, with toffee, black cherry and dark chocolate. The finish is very long and ends on a note of roasted tea.
