Hibiki 17 Years Old is a Japanese blend of aged malt and grain whiskies from Suntory's distilleries, bottled at 43% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It was first released in 1989 and is matured in Japanese mizunara oak casks at Yamazaki. The name Hibiki means harmony.
The nose is fairly full, with honey, wax, resin and oak, gentle smoke, cacao, cooked fruit and a nutty note. The palate is sweet and rich, with mixed peels, raisin, custard, a little zest and plenty of oak. The finish is long, with oak, cocoa and sherried peels.
