High Coast – Cinco (50cl, 50.5%)

High Coast Cinco is an unpeated Swedish single malt from Ådalen, bottled at 50.5% ABV in a 50cl bottle. Its average age is 8.5 years, and 5,195 bottles were filled. The spirit was first matured in ex-bourbon barrels, then finished in a mix of Spanish and American oak sherry casks holding Oloroso, Fino, Pedro Ximénez, Amontillado and Palo Cortado. The components were first put together for a masterclass, and were bottled as a release in their own right. The nose is stewed fruits, candied citrus, toasted nuts and dark berries. The palate brings dried fig, cocoa and warming spice, with sherry sweetness balanced by oak tannin, and the finish is long.
