A single cask Highland Park from Orkney, Scotland's northernmost distillery. It was distilled in 2007, bottled in 2020 after 12 years in a refill puncheon, cask number 4939, and comes in a 70cl bottle.
It is bottled at cask strength, 62.8% ABV, without chill filtration.
The nose has heather honey, peat smoke, orange peel and vanilla custard, with nutmeg and cinnamon. The palate is rich and powerful, with honey-glazed orchard fruits, dark chocolate, ginger and a heathery smokiness. The finish is very long, with peat smoke, dried fruits and warming oak spice, fading to a gentle sweetness.
