Highland Park 14 Year Old Land of Orkney is a single malt Scotch made for travel retail. It was matured mainly in first-fill sherry-seasoned American oak casks, with refill casks added for balance.
Highland Park cuts the peat for its whisky from the distillery's own grounds on Orkney, which gives soft smoke and honeyed sweetness.
The nose offers crème brûlée, baked apple, honey, dried fruit, gentle heather smoke, cinnamon and sea salt. The palate is smooth, with caramel, raisins, malt, nutmeg and spiced oak. The finish is medium to long, with peat smoke, heather honey and a touch of salt.
