Highland Park 15 Year Old is a single malt from the Orkney Islands, bottled at 44% in a 70cl bottle. The distillery was established in 1798.
The whisky matures for 15 years in a combination of American oak bourbon casks and sherry-seasoned European oak casks. The barley is floor malted by hand and dried over Orkney peat rich in heather.
The nose is usually described as aromatic peat, heather honey and dried fruits, with vanilla and gentle oak spice. The palate is creamy and honeyed, with dark chocolate, spice, subtle smoke, dried fruit and citrus. The finish is long, with sweet smoke and gentle spice.
