Highland Park 15 Year Old Viking Heart is a single malt from Orkney, Scotland's northernmost distillery, in a 70cl bottle at 44% ABV.
The barley is floor malted, and the peat comes from Hobbister Moor. The whisky matured for 15 years, mostly in first-fill European oak sherry-seasoned casks, with a smaller share of American oak.
The nose is rich vanilla, citrus with honey, cinnamon and peat smoke. The palate is creamy vanilla, heather honey and grated nutmeg, with gentle peat smoke and fruitcake. The finish is long, with delicate smoke, dried fruits and warm spices.
