An 18 year old single malt from Highland Park on Orkney, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The barley is dried over Orkney peat from Hobbister Moor, and the distillery turns its own malt on a traditional floor.
The whisky was matured for 18 years in sherry-seasoned casks, a balance of first-fill European oak and American oak.
The nose combines peat smoke with floral honey, dried orange zest, black pepper and nutmeg. The palate has dark chocolate, Seville orange marmalade and honeyed malt, with heather smoke, warm spice and candied ginger. The finish is long, with sweet smoke, dried fruit and a little oak spice.
