Highland Park 18 Year Old is a single malt from the Orkney distillery, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
It matured for 18 years in a mix of European and American oak casks, with a high proportion of first-fill sherry-seasoned European oak. Twenty per cent of the malt is floor malted by hand and dried over Orkney's heather-rich peat smoke.
The nose is rich with mature oak, honey, dried fruits, aromatic smoke, toffee and dark chocolate orange. On the palate, honeyed sweetness gives way to winter spices, crystallised ginger and dried fruits. The finish is long, with sweet spices, soft smoke and a touch of saltiness.
