Highland Park – 18 Years Old Viking Pride (70cl)

Highland Park 18 Years Old Viking Pride is a single malt from the island of Orkney, in a 70cl bottle. The distillery's setting of harsh weather, violent storms, cold winters and a Viking past is part of the character it is said to reflect. Honey sweetness runs through it, alongside cherry, chocolate and subtle peat smoke. The colour is pale gold with bronze glints. The nose is warm and floral, with honey, hints of sherry and balanced smoke. On the palate it is slightly savoury, with honey, cinnamon, ginger and gentle marine notes of iodine, tar and sea salt. The finish is long and balanced.
