This is a 20 year old Highland single malt from Highland Park, distilled in 2003 and bottled in 2024 by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society in a 70cl bottle. It is a Rare Release, one of 924 bottles.
The whisky began in a bourbon HTMC cask and was then moved into ex-Islay Oloroso refill hogsheads.
The tasting panel found the nose like chips with salt and balsamic, crispy seaweed and chilli jam. The palate brought seaweed, sunflower oil and salted potato chips, with mussels poached in ale and clementine juice. Water added lemon and buttered corn bread. The texture was full-bodied and taffy-like.
