A 21 year old single malt from Highland Park on Orkney, this is the August 2019 release, bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill filtered and of natural colour.
The whisky was matured for 21 years in first-fill and refill sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks. The barley was partly malted by hand on the floor, and the peat comes from Hobbister Moor on Orkney.
The nose has aromatic peat, heather honey, ripe stone fruit, cinnamon, nutmeg and toasted oak. On the palate there is honey, gentle smoke, ripe pear, caramelised orange and dark chocolate with a creamy texture. The finish is long, with sweet peat smoke, dried fruit and vanilla.
